I really like becoming an Instructional Technologist, largely since it generates for me this type of wide-open field to experience in. Education is really as broad a business as ever. And technology is unquestionably part of it.

After answering the “what’s that?” question, I’m usually requested about technology generally, after which its place within education, particularly. Individuals are intrigued through the seeming steady drive toward online or e-learning environments and platforms.

Technology, the aim of Education?

I’m frequently requested about our school’s new Learning Management System, or why we are curious about on your journey to Project-Based Learning. They would like to be aware of why and how in our one-to-one tablet program so when we are offering hybrid an internet-based courses.

But frequently people confuse the aim of education using the tools of education.

The aim of education isn’t:

Web 2 . 0. Technologies

Project-Based Learning

Blended or Flipped Learning Models

Online or Hybrid Learning Models

Smartboards or any other Interactive Classroom Technologies and applications

Traveling with a laptop

Technology and it is connected pedagogies simply represent the brand new tools of education.

But don’t result in the mistake of thinking these new tools are just replacements for older outdated tools such as the blackboard and chalk, overhead projectors, and also the VHS player. innovation,

critical analysis,

collaboration,

global awareness,

presentation and communication skills

and the opportunity to manage time.

We make reference to these as “twenty-first century Skills.” Teaching these skills, in and together with mastery of content, is the aim of the twenty-first century Teacher. Technology simply provides us the various tools to get it done better.
